Jose Mourinho set to be handed new Roma contract

Roma boss Jose Mourinho is set to be handed a new contract by the club’s owners.

Mourinho’s Giallorossi recently came back from 1-0 down to beat Ludogorets 3-1 and they qualified for the playoff stages of the UEFA Europa League. As of now, they are also in contention to finish inside the top four in Serie A.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) have reported today that the Friedkins believe that Mourinho also represents the future of Roma and they are working to keep him at the club till the end of 2025. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2024 but Roma want to extend that for another year.

An offer is being prepared for the new deal and it could be presented to the Portuguese soon, with the manager having won the UEFA Conference League with Roma last season and it was their first piece of silverware since Luciano Spalletti won the Coppa Italia.
