Juventusโ€™ Maccabi Haifa loss breaks European record

Juventus lost 2-0 to Israeli outfit Maccabi Haifa but the defeat made sure that the Bianconeri broke their own European record.

This was Juveโ€™s third loss in four Champions League games this season and their only win came against Maccabi in the clash in Turin, but they relied on a late goal from Adrien Rabiot to seal the 3-1 win in the reverse fixture. But two goals from winger Omer Atzili saw Maccabi through in Israel, condemning Max Allegri to another defeat in a poor start to the campaign.

But the defeat also broke a Juve record, with the Old Lady conceding a goal in six consecutive European games for the first time since 2013.

The Old Lady were knocked out by Villarreal in the previous season of the Champions League. They lost 2-1 to Paris Saint-Germain and they lost 2-1 to Benfica as well in their second game of the season. They may now have a fight to qualify for the Europa League as well.
