Juventus planning raid for Milan’s Lazio-bound defender

Juventus are planning for a last-minute entry into the transfer race for Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli.

According to a report from Il Messaggero, Juventus have been keeping a keen eye on the negotiation between Lazio and Romagnoli’s entourage ahead of the player’s potential departure in the summer transfer window.

The report believes that Lazio president Claudio Lotito is on a mission to lower Romagnoli’s wages before taking him on board for the next season. While the 26-year-old defender wants a salary of €3.2million plus bonuses at the Rome-based club, Biancocelesti are looking for a discount.

The Milan captain will see out his contract in June 2021. As such, the childhood Lazio fan will be free to join any of his suitors. Juventus are expected to sign a centre-back this summer, with multiple reports hinting at Giorgio Chiellini’s transfer to Major League Soccer in the approaching summer transfer window.
