Kalidou Koulibaly is said to be waiting for Barcelona even though Napoli have offered him increased terms on a deal.
While it has been suggested previously that Koulibaly had pegged back a contract approach from the Partenopei, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Aurelio de Laurentiis has made an exception for the Senegalese and has gone beyond the limit of €3 million per season. The new offer made for the defender is at €4 million per season.
But despite his immense liking for Napoli and the city of Naples, Koulibaly is waiting to see if Barcelona make an approach for them this summer. He is reflections about Barcelona are not due to economic reasons, as the players believes that he has the chance to win silverware at the Catalan club and because Xavi wants him at the club.
If Barcelona do not come forward to sign him though, Koulibaly will be happy to consider signing Napoli’s current offer and he would still remain captain of the Partenopei.
