Lazio on the brink of signing Luís Maximiano from Granada

Luís Maximiano is ready to move on to pastures new after just one season in Spain, with Lazio emerging as a potential recipient of his services.

According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are close to completing a move for Luís Maximiano. The Italian club and the Spanish side have agreed on a fee of around €10 million plus various bonuses for the transfer. Though, the final details regarding the bonuses are yet to be defined.

Lazio have already witnessed the departures of Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina this summer, forcing them to initiate a high-priority renovation in the goalkeeping rank.

Maximiano joined Granada last summer and ended up playing 35 matches in the 2021/22 season. However, his efforts with the gloves did little to help the club avoid relegation, with Granada bound to start their new season in the second tier of Spanish football.

Lazio will now be looking to sign another goalkeeper as they seek full revamp in their goalkeeping department, with Spezia’s Ivan Provedel understood to be the name liked by Maurizio Sarri.
