Lazio on the brink of signing Matias Vecino

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has already seen Laizo make some notable signings under his keen observation this summer. Matias Vecino appears to be the next coup for the Italian club.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio are expected to reach an agreement over the signing of Matias Vecino in the next few days. The club is close to meeting the player’s demands regarding the salary and the duration of his contract.

The report suggests that Vecino could sign a three-year contract worth a base salary of around €2-€2.5 million per season plus additional bonuses.

Since leaving Inter following the expiry of his contract with the Nerazzurri earlier in this summer transfer window, the 30-year-old Uruguayan has not managed to find a new club yet.

Maurizio Sarri likes the experienced midfielder and sees him as a potential backup for Marcos Antonio.

The club is also interested in signing Ivan Ilic from Hellas Verona, but his arrival currently depends on whether Luis Alberto finds a way out of the Roman side.
