Ligue 1 star on the brink of joining Milan after snubbing Premier League club Newcastle

In what is considered a massive blow to Newcastle United’s transfer ambitions, Milan are edging closer to landing Sven Botman from Lille in the approaching summer transfer window.

Journalist Daniele Longo claims that Botman have agreed on a four-deal with the Rossoneri. As per the report, the Dutchman will earn a salary of around €4million per season in the contract proposed by the Serie A side.

A potential deal for the 22-year-old could cost Milan a transfer fee of around €30miilion. However, Lille and the Italian club have not reportedly sorted out the final details of the agreement. Alessio Romagnoli will leave Milan on a free transfer next season, with the Milan captain closing in on a move to Lazio.

Touted to be one of the best among the emerging defenders in Europe, Botman is seen as an astute replacement for the Italian defender.
