Atletico Madrid join Napoli in the race for Federico Bernardeschi

Juventus have now officially released Federico Bernardeschi. He is free to join a club of his preference. New clubs are showing interest in him.

According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Atletico Madrid have joined Napoli in the race to sign Bernardeschi this summer. It is understood that Napoli have been in contact with the entourage of the Italy international for the last few weeks.

But, seeing that the deal is not close to completion, Diego Simeone’s club has reportedly decided to enter the fray. They will try to complete a free transfer for the 28-year-old, who left Juventus after five seasons only a few days ago.

Besides Bernardeschi, Juventus have also announced the departure of Alvaro Morata, who has returned to Atletico Madrid following the fulfilment of his loan spell in the Italian club.

As reported previously, Napoli, having already signed Mathias Olivera and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer, will now have to complete a few sales before turning their eyes towards recruiting new names once again.
