Napoli were interested in signing former Barcelona and current Udinese playmaker Gerard Deulofeu in the summer transfer window of 2022.
According to the report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have not left the path leading to the Spaniard, but they have got some fierce competition for the player, with clubs such as Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04, and RB Leipzig all showing interest in the former Watford man.
As for Udinese, it would be difficult to keep hold of the player as his contract with the Italian club runs out in June 2024. Last summer, Napoli could not meet the asking price of the player. Udinese management still value him at a transfer fee between €‎25 million and €‎30 million.
As per the information, a departure in the upcoming January transfer window is out of the equation. However, Deulofeu will study the possibility of moving to a new club next summer. The former Milan attacker has garnered two goals and six assists from 12 games in Serie A this season.
