Milan struggling to reach Rafael Leao contract demands

Milan are currently struggling to meet the new contract demands put forward by Rafael Leao.

The Portuguese has been quite impressive for the Rossoneri since the previous season and he had attracted interest from Chelsea last summer. Manchester United were also linked, as Jorge Mendes tried to swap Leao and Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.

While Leao has stayed at the San Siro, Daniele Longo has reported that the Rossoneri are struggling to meet the player’s financial demands for a new deal. Leao wants about €8 million to €9 million per season to sign the current and Milan’s failure to reach that figure gave rise to rumours surrounding Noa Lang.

But Longo has also stated that while Lang’s agent was in Italy, the trip focused around Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners and not Lang’s potential move to Milan, who have made no contact for the ex-Ajax player despite previous links.
