Milan’s pursuit of Lille’s Renato Sanches enters ‘the crucial phase’

Milan have been running after the services of Lille’s Renato Sanches for a long, long time. But they are yet to find an agreement over a summer transfer for the Portuguese superstar.

According to journalist Carlo Laudisa, Milan are yet to bridge the gap concerning the player’s valuation asked by the selling club and the wage package demanded by the player.

The report understands that the Rossoneri have offered an amount of €12million for Sanches, whose contract at the French club expires in June 2023.

Nevertheless, Lille are asking for an amount of around €15million, which is not too far from what Milan are offering at the moment. But the club needs to find a balance there.

Milan have reportedly decided on taking the player’s consent first, which means that they are willing to agree on the personal terms with the 24-year-old before submitting a concrete bid to Lille.

The report suggests that Jorge Mendes, the agent of the player, has been involved in fruitful dialogues with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara in recent times.

While the player initially requested a net salary of around €6millon per season in a four-year deal, the latest developments have led the player to be satisfied with a net salary of €4millon per season in a four-year contract.

However, it is believed that both parties need to sort out the final details regarding the bonuses. The transfer saga has understandably entered a crucial phase. The upcoming weeks are reported to be important in regard to Sanches’ impending summer transfer to Milan.
