Following the injuries to Andrea Ranocchia and Pablo Marì, Monza have grown desperate to reinforce their defence, targeting Germán Pezzella from Real Betis.
According to what is reported by Sky Sport Italia, Monza are considering a late transfer for former Fiorentina captain German Pezzella.
The report claims that Pezzella, 31, has been identified as a suitable cover for Ranocchia and Marì.
Both Monza defenders picked up an injury during the weekend, with Ranocchia sustaining an ankle sprain and Marì fracturing his fibula ahead of their game against Napoli.
Ranocchia and Marì have joined the newly-promoted Serie A side this summer. While the former joined Monza on a free transfer after his contract with Inter expired in June, the latter is currently on a season-long loan spell from Arsenal.
Since returning to La Liga last summer, Pezzella has managed to earn regular playing time for Betis. This season, he has already made two appearances, playing 180 minutes of football in the Spanish league.
