Monza want to sign Francesco Acerbi as they await Arsenal’s approval for the Pablo Mari deal

Lazio star Francesco Acerbi looks set to leave the Roman club this summer, with Monza eyeing a summer transfer for the former Milan defender.

According to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Monza have entered the race to sign Francesco Acerbi from Lazio this summer. Acerbi remains keen on leaving Lazio. Maurizio Sarri recently confirmed:

“At the end of the season, he [Francesco Acerbi] expressed the desire to change the air and the club will try to please him, for this reason, other programs have been made.”

Besides Monza, Napoli have also shown interest in the 34-year-old Italy international. The defender is considered transferable by the Rome-based side.

Di Marzio’s report further claims that the newly-promoted Serie A club has Lazio’s consent to sign the centre-back.

On the other hand, Monza are still awaiting Arsenal’s response to the bid for Pablo Marì. Adriano Galliani’s side is looking to land the Brazilian on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.
