Napoli boss Spalletti on World Cup break: “It will be a great advantage for a team like ours to be able to work in this period”

While training in preparation of the second half of the campaign, Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti provided his perspective of the sudden halt of the season due to the World Cup.

As it stands, I Partenopei were on a fabulous stride of form, finishing off the first set of 15 games undefeated and eight points clear of second-placed Milan.

However, many argue that the abrupt interruption of the campaign as a result of the World Cup will have a negative impact on Spalletti’s men, claiming it will be difficult for the squad to regain the momentum they once possessed.

While speaking in an interview via TuttoNapoli, the Tuscan tactician provided his insight on the current circumstances throughout his training camp:

“At times like these, teams like ours have the opportunity to work in more detail. You can’t go fast all the time. The break will offer the opportunity to work on the details. We are very happy with the form we have achieved . It will be a great advantage for a team like ours to be able to work and maintain our performance in this period. We started the season very well.

It was an advantage to have made the right moves in the transfer market, taking on young and talented players. We have a lot of quality, but we also have aspects that we need to improve. When we put our quality first, other points we need to improve are overshadowed. So I congratulate my players on a great start. We will do our best to continue like this.”
