Napoli close to reaching agreement with Chelsea for Kepa Arrizabalaga

Napoli are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Premier League giants Chelsea over a loan deal for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

According to a report from Gianluca di Marzio, Napoli wanted to reinforce their goalie position and approached Chelsea for the out of favour Kepa Arrizabalaga who has fallen down the pecking order after the signing of Edouard Mendy.

The clubs have reached an agreement on the Spaniard’s wages with the Premier League outfit set to pay three-quarters of his salary during the course of the loan deal.

However, the clubs are yet to reach an agreement on the bonuses to be received by Chelsea. Chelsea want two bonuses of €1.5 million each which Napoli are reluctant to comply and the agents of the player are working with the club to lower their demands.

Napoli’s current first-choice goalkeeper Alex Meret is set to face competition if the signing of Kepa goes through. He has a renewal offer from the Partenopei keeping him at the club till 2027 but he is waiting to see who will be Napoli’s new goalkeeper signing after that he will take the final decision about his future.
