Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly rejects club’s contract offer amidst Barcelona interest

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has rejected a new contract offer from the club.

Journalist Giovanni Scotto has reported about the situation of the Senegalese defender, who led his country to the AFCON title earlier in the campaign. Napoli had offered Koulibaly a contract of about €3.5 million per season, which is half of what he currently earns in the current deal. The defender rejected the offer.

The journalist also goes on to report that while the player could leave this summer, no offers have arrived for him yet but the Partenopei value him at €30 million. As things stand though, the Senegal international has not asked for his summer sale.

Barcelona have been linked with a move for him in recent days, with Aurelio de Laurentiis having stated that Napoli will not force him to stay. Luciano Spalletti though, stated that he does not want the player to depart in the summer.
