Napoli make contact for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo

Serie A giants Napoli have made contact for Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo, who is said to be tempted by the idea of joining the Partenopei.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about the situation of Zaniolo today, stating that Napoli have made informal contact with Claudio Vigorelli, the agent of Zaniolo. Vigorelli then passed on the information about the contact to Zaniolo’s family and they didn’t seem displeased by the idea at all.

Zaniolo doesn’t seem to be worried about money and he cares more about ambition and growth currently. Napoli believe that they are in the lead for him but are keeping a safe distance, knowing that Hirving Lozano’s situation is unresolved. Napoli’s initial target was Ola Solbakken, who has joined Roma and Zaniolo is now their main target as a replacement for Lozano.

Since Zaniolo’s contract expires in 2024, his value could be at around €30 million next summer but Roma are likely to hold talks over a new deal by February. This week, Vigorelli will meet Tiago Pinto and there is an intention to talk about Zaniolo and it is expected that the agent will inform Roma about interest from other clubs.
