Napoli make positive contact in attempt to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Abdou Diallo

Napoli have recently made positive contact in their potential move for Paris Saint-Germain Abdou Diallo.

The Partenopei are set to lose Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, with the Senegal defender set to join Chelsea and he has already successfully undergone a medical with the Blues.

Sky Italia have reported that while Kim Min-Jae is Napoli’s leading candidate to replace Koulibaly, talks for the defender are not easy even though some progress has been made. The difficulty is presented by Rennes, who are also interested. More than that, Bruno Genesio is the current Rennes manager and Kim played under him in the past.

That could swing the situation in the favour of the French side. The club’s Plan B now is Diallo, for whom positive contact has been made recently. There would be no issue in affording the fee of the player but the wage demands could be an issue for the Partenopei.
