Napoli remain interested in PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas

Despite failing to get the deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s Keylor Navas over the line before the end of the summer transfer window, Napoli have not lost hope as reports suggest that they remain interested in Gianluigi Donnarumma’s deputy.

According to Italian transfer market expert Alfredo PedullĂ , Napoli will continue to pursue the services of Keylor Navas.

The report claims that they will try to lure the goalkeeper away from the Parisien club in the January transfer window, with Navas’ contract at PSG expiring in June 2024.

Meanwhile, Napoli are preparing a contract renewal offer for Alex Meret. Once the subject of immense criticism, Meret has revived his status as Napoli’s first-choice custodian to a significant extent, thanks to his improved performances in the 2022/23 season thus far.

While the future for the Italy international at the Naples-based club remains full of uncertainty, it is understood that he will sign an extension either until 2026 or until 2025 with an additional one-year option. Meret, who is bound to Napoli’s contract until June 2023, could earn an amount closer to €2 million per season in this new contract.
