Napoli sporting director on Kalidou Koulibaly amidst links with Juventus and Chelsea: “Untouchable and untransferrable”

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has revealed that Kalidou Koulibaly is untransferrable, amidst links with Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus.

Recently, Juventus held a meeting with the agent of Koulibaly and reports had talked about the fact that an offer was also ready for the player.

Napoli sporting director Giuntoli spoke at a press conference recently and he gave his views about Koulibaly’s situation. He stated:

“We didn’t need to tell Koulibaly that we’re not selling him to Juventus – because we consider Koulibaly untouchable and non-transferrable.”

He was also asked about the defender’s current contract situation and he told: “No official offer has arrived from any club. But Kalidou’s contract expires next year, he represented Naples in an extraordinary way. We are talking to him every day. The president made him an almost indispensable offer, he really offered him a lot.

“We offered him six million for five years, net, without bonuses and without anything. That’s €60 million gross and also a future as an executive because the boy has given us so much and he deserved this incredible proposal. The president is very generous, but also attentive to the accounts. From very high salaries this year we have returned to a sustainability that is a guarantee for the fans in a long-term project. Despite this he made him this offer, and it is as if he had offered them the double.”

It has been previously reported that Kalidou is waiting for an approach from Barcelona but the defender has been subject of contact from Premier League side Chelsea as well, with the Blues interested in him.
