Newcastle United have ramped up their interest in Empoli star Kristjan Asllani, but Milan clubs are also interested in the emerging midfielder.
As reported by Alfredo Pedullà, Newcastle will soon hold a meeting for Kristjan Asllani. The report understands that Milan and Inter are willing to land the 20-year-old this summer. However, they have different strategies regarding the future of the defensive midfielder.
While Inter want to buy the player immediately, Milan would like to let Asllani stay at Empoli for another season so that the youngster could enjoy the natural growth at his boyhood club.
Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi wishes to keep the midfielder for another season. As far as the player’s preference is concerned, the Albanian intends to remain in Italy. But he is seemingly reluctant to dismiss a move to other leagues as he is open to trying out new experiences, meaning that a summer move to Newcastle United is possible.
Newcastle will hold talks with the selling club next week over a potential summer transfer. Asllani made 23 appearances in Serie A 2021/22 season, having shown glimpses of brilliance with his manoeuvring abilities.
