OFFICIAL | Giacomo Raspadori joins Napoli from Sassuolo

Napoli have finally announced the signing of Giacomo Raspadori from Sassuolo. The player has signed a contract until June 2027 at his new club.

The reports suggest that he will be earning a salary of around €2.5 million per season. Raspadori has always been keen on joining Luciano Spalletti’s side. Perhaps playing in the Champions League was one of the main motivations behind this transfer.

With Napoli securing the services of the shrewd forward, Spalletti has now found some solidity in their attacking department, which lost its significance to some extent after the summer departures of Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens.

Although the 22-year-old never opposed the idea of playing for Napoli, Sassuolo’s willingness to get the best out of the youngster’s transfer from an economic point of view delayed the predestined move.

Having sold Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham United, the Neroverdi did not want to lose another talented forward in the same transfer window. Last season, Raspadori amassed 10 goals and six assists in 36 appearances in Serie A. Napoli fans would want him to better those numbers in the 2022/23 campaign.
