Liverpool’s Origi rejected Newcastle in favour of Milan

Liverpool’s Divock Origi rejected a chance to join Newcastle United in favour of a move to Milan.

Daniele Longo has reported about the situation of Origi, stating that the Belgian received multiple offers from clubs abroad. Sides in Germany and England came forward for him and most remarkably, Newcastle did too. But the Belgian forward rejected the Magpies because he had given a word to Paolo Maldini about the transfer to the Rossoneri.

The ex-Lille man is expected to be a Milan player soon and he will be the club’s first summer signing. The move is approaching the final stages now, with the player expected to earn about €4 million per season and he will pen a four-year deal with the Rossoneri soon. It has been previously reported that the forward is fuelled by redemption.

Maldini and Ricky Massara are continuing their work in the market with the goal of making Stefano Pioli’s squad bigger and better. Origi will be the first of the four or five signings in the summer.
