Paul Pogba didn’t follow Juventus’ advice following knee injury

With Paul Pogba set to miss the FIFA World Cup through injury, it seems as if the Frenchman hadn’t followed Juventus’ advice when he had picked up his initial knee injury.

Giovanni Albanese has reported that after Pogba had picked up a lateral meniscus injury during pre-season training for the Old Lady, the Bianconeri doctors had assessed his situation and wanted him to undergo surgery right now. That would have allowed him to play the World Cup, making sure that he returned in the beginning of September.

But Pogba evaluated the situation, took further time and decided to go with therapy as he believed that it will keep him out for a lesser amount of time. He underwent an emergency operation only after therapy hadn’t helped in the improvement of the situation. This had left Juve and Max Allegri quite frustrated with how he had handled the injury, despite the club’s advice.
