PSG defender Abdou Diallo linked with a move to Roma

Roma eye a transfer for Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo during the dying days of the 2022 summer transfer window.

According to Il Messaggero (via Roma Press), Roma are lining up a late transfer for Abdou Diallo, who joined PSG from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2019.

Roma manager Jose Mourinho likes the player’s profile. And it is understood that the Giallorossi would be interested in signing him on a loan deal plus an option to buy (depending on his number of appearances and quality of performances).

The report claims that PSG’s newly-hired manager Christophe Galtier doesn’t see the 26-year-old as part of plans in the French capital. Per the claims, Roma are considered a “strong favourite” for the versatile defender.

Since joining PSG, the Senegalese centre-back, who can play as a defensive midfielder as well as a full-back, has made 75 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions across all competitions. At the French club, Diallo has a contract until June 2024.
