Return of Juventus’ Federico Chiesa postponed again

Federico Chiesa’s return to action for Juventus has been postponed again, as he continues to nurse a knee injury.

Fabiana della Valle has reported that 245 days have passed since Chiesa last wore the Bianconeri jersey on the pitch. While it was initially expected that the Italian would be back to action well before the World Cup starts, he is now expected to come back only a few weeks before the tournament starts in Qatar.

There has been a postponement of about a month, with the player now returning in around the middle of November instead of October. It is stated that Chiesa had felt confident about returning in August itself but he encountered swelling in his knee and that forced him to wait for longer.

Chiesa no longer feels any pain and he is continuing off-field personalised work, with his knee being constantly monitored. The loads will be gradually increased and if the injured limb responds well to the stresses by the end of September, Chiesa could return to training with the group. Then, it will take a month for him to reach an acceptable physical condition, which means that at best Max Allegri will have him available at the beginning of November.
