Roma eye Valencia’s Gonçalo Guedes and edge close to Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi

Valencia look set to lose Gonçalo Guedes amid the approaching summer transfer window, with Roma looking to secure the  signing of the forward.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Roma see Gonçalo Guedes from Valencia as a vital target and are also hopeful of striking a deal with Sassuolo for Davide Frattesi.

The report understands that the Portuguese winger is determined to leave the Spanish club this summer despite being bound to their terms until June 2024.

The Giallorossi boss Jose Mourinho rates the player highly and is thus pushing Tiago Pinto to complete the deal as soon as possible.

Several reports suggest that the player has already agreed to join Roma this summer. But Valencia are demanding a fee of around €35million.

Roma intend to include a player in a potential offer. Gennaro Gattuso, recently hired as the manager of the Spanish side, wanted the player when he was at Fiorentina for a brief period.

It is also believed that La Viola’s unwillingness to sign Guedes was one of the reasons for the abrupt separation between the manager and the club from Florence. That said, Gattuso should be willing to keep hold of the 25-year-old player. As for Frattesi, Roma continue to make strides.
