Roma make enquiries for Atalanta’s Luis Muriel and Mario Pašalić

Atalanta’s transfer window reportedly hinges on the futures of Luis Muriel and Duván Zapata. Both players have been crucial to Gian Piero Gasperini’s success at the Bergamo side.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Roma have made enquiries about the availability of Mario Pašalić and Luis Muriel. The Giallorossi management held a meeting with the managers of Atalanta on Wednesday.

The report understands that the profiles of both Pašalić and Muriel please the transfer agendas of Jose Mourinho. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the Colombian could leave Atalanta this summer, owing to his contract situation with the Italian club.

The 31-year-old has a contract at La Dea until June 2023, meaning that this could be Atalanta’s last chance to amass a reasonable amount of cash in exchange for the services of the swift-footed forward.

Should Atalanta manage to offload Muriel in the coming days, their focus could shift towards Andrea Pinamonti. Pinamonti has been on La Dea’s transfer radar for a long time, but the club has not managed to push for his signing due to their poor financial situation.
