Roma manager Jose Mourinho: “We do not have the same economic potential as our rivals”

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has completed 22 years in the coaching circuit in what has been a storied journey for the Portuguese.

Speaking to Golden Quinas Gala (as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport), Mourinho made some inspiring claims regarding his journey at Roma thus far and what the Giallorossi fans could expect from his team in the 2022/23 season. He said:

“Last season, we did what no one expected, this year we will try to do better. We do not have the same economic potential as our rivals. We have made a market worth seven million euros, but we have quality, passion, many people who likes to work together, which is an important thing, and then at the end of the season, we’ll see.”

In the game against Atalanta at the weekend, Mourinho received a red card, meaning that he will not be present on the sideline for the Giallorossi’s Serie A fixture against Inter. One of the most animated managers one could find in today’s football, Mourinho commented:

“Today, as I celebrate 22 years as a manager, the expulsion is nothing new for me, perhaps it reflects my way of being. I don’t want it to change.”
