Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo set for stay despite Tottenham and Juventus interest

Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo is now set to stay at the club despite having attracted interest from Tottenham and Juventus.

Alfredo Pedulla has reported that a special feeling has developed between Jose Mourinho and Zaniolo, who now has a feeling of trust for the Portuguese.

Juventus had come forward for the Italian and Roma hadn’t completely ruled out the move. But the Bianconeri’s offer wasn’t as high as the Giallorossi wanted. An offer of at least €40 million was needed to have a chance of signing him but it never came.

Tottenham were also keen on the player and held enquiries for the player but they never went beyond that to make a potential offer. It is stated that while Zaniolo would have liked to play for Juve, he didn’t want to force through a transfer.

Contract talks are expected to be held soon and the conditions have been laid down already. If Roma value Zaniolo at around 50 million, they would have to hand him a wage of around €4.5 million in the next deal.
