Roma’s Stephan El Shaarawy: “Jose Mourinho will stay in Rome.”

Roma forward Stephan El Shaarawy, 30, commented on the future of Jose Mourinho, 59, yesterday, amid rumours that the legendary Portuguese coach is destined for international duty.

El Shaarawy, told press that he and his Roma teammates believe and hope, Mourinho will remain in Rome despite the lure being pushed by the Portuguese press about replacing Fernando Santos.

“It is obvious that we all hope that Mourinho will stay here, with Roma, for a long time to come.”

The Pharaoh then insisted that the ‘Special One’ is focused on Rome, and there is strong feeling that he will stay.

“I am convinced that he will stay in Rome.”

This comes as wide speculation pins Jose Mourinho as the man destined to takeover from Fernando Santos, following a dismal World Cup outing.

Some reports have even suggested Mourinho could take up a duel role, managing both club and country.

Mourinho’s Roma side currently sit floundering in 7th however remain just three points off Champions League football and are into the next round of the UEFA Europa League.
