Romelu Lukaku on Inter’s Scudetto hopes: “Everything is possible in football”

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has expressed his belief regarding the fact that the Nerazzurri can still win the Scudetto.

Napoli are the top of the Serie A table and have, by far, been the most impressive side in the division. They are eight points clear of Milan and ten clear of Juventus. Lazio and Inter are 11 points behind Luciano Spalletti’s side, who take on the Nerazzurri in the Serie A’s opening game of 2023.

Lukaku, who is expected to return to action for Inter against Napoli, recently spoke to Sky Italia about the Scudetto race and he stated that Simone Inzaghi’s side can still win the league title and they have to keep believing.

The Belgian stated: “Until a team has lifted the trophy, everything is possible. Do I believe in it? All time. For that we play football, you have to believe in the impossible. As people say – it’s impossible for us. Let’s see at the end of the season, the team that lifts the trophy and will be champion. Now no one has raised it, we are still there, there are still 6 months left. The championship ends on June 6, guys.”

Lukaku also spoke to Sky Italia about Napoli and their impressive run so far in the Serie A and Champions League, saying: “The coach is really strong. Spalletti did a great job, we have to say. They have really strong players, I’ve been out and seen a lot of their games. Napoli is in a good moment. They are first in the standings. We have respect but not fear.”

Lukaku has endured an injury prone campaign so far and his last start came back in August in Inter’s league game against Lazio. An extended version of his interview with Sky Italia will be released on Sunday afternoon.
