Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has spoken out about the comparisons involving himself and Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne.
Milinkovic-Savic has been in exceptional form this season and he impressed for Lazio in their 2-1 win over Midtjylland in the Europa League as well. He scored the club’s equaliser and had a good game, helping the side make sure that they will finish inside the first two spots in the group stages.
Milinkovic-Savic has contributed to ten goals in Serie A and now has two goals in the Europa League. These numbers have drawn comparisons between him and De Bruyne but the Serbian was asked about it in an interview with Sky (via TMW) and he stated:
“As the coach said, however, I keep my head down and pedal, it’s not enough to win a game. My numbers among midfielders are second only to De Bruyne? He is number 1, I’ve always said that, I try to improve and do my work.”
