Serie A outfit Salernitana are interested in the possibility of signing Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
Salernitana just about managed to stay in Serie A last season, as Davide Nicola’s side defied all odds to avoid relegation despite being rock-bottom at the halfway stage.
Gianluca di Marzio has now reported that the Belgian striker has opened up to the possibility of joining the Salerno-based club and he is willing to start a new adventure in Serie A this season, following his loan stint at Besiktas last year.
Chelsea, currently, want to let the player go on an initial loan deal with only an obligation to buy permanently. Salernitana prefer an option to buy right now. Batshuayi’s current contract at Chelsea runs out in the summer of 2023 but there is an option for an extension of another season.
Work has to be done initially for Chelsea to extend his deal as well, with Batshuayi’s wage demands said to be much higher than what the Blues are willing to pay.
