Giovanni Simeone prefers Napoli to La Liga club Sevilla

Napoli want to reinforce their attack and have subsequently identified Giovanni Simeone as one of the top transfer targets this summer. The Italian club has already lost superstars such as Lorenzo Insigne, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Dries Mertens in the ongoing transfer window.

Transfer market expert Daniele Longo claims that Hellas Verona striker Giovanni Simeone has agreed to join Napoli over Sevilla this summer.

The report understands that Sevilla were also interested in signing the Argentinian marksman but could not convince the player as the striker has chosen a move to Naples over the Spanish club.

Even though the player is ready to complete his transfer to Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis’ side has not managed to reach an agreement with Verona over the signing of the 27-year-old.

The Naples-based club wants a loan deal with an obligation to buy worth around €16-€17 million. Verona, who signed Simeone from Cagliari on a permanent deal for €10 million earlier this summer, initially demanded a figure of around €20 million from Napoli.

Andrea Petagna is close to joining Monza. It is thought that Napoli Sporting Director, Cristiano Giuntoli, will ramp up their interest in Simeone after the sale of Petagna.
