Sporting are said to be in talks regarding a potential move for Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has not travelled with the United squad for their friendly against Atletico Madrid on Saturday and he returned to the club’s training only recently, after having not joined them in their pre-season tour for Thailand and Australia.
La Repubblica, who had reported well in advance that Ronaldo wants to leave United, have now stated that Jorge Mendes is currently working to move his client to Sporting. While parties are at work for a move, Ronaldo has already given his approval for a return to the Portuguese giants.
The negotiations are complicated but a move that previously only a mere hypothesis is now taking shape. Ronaldo is now waiting for breakthrough in the move to take place.
Reports in England have suggested that Ronaldo will not start United’s opening game of the Premier League season against Brighton.
