Toronto FC star Lorenzo Insigne loses unborn baby

Toronto FC star Lorenzo Insigne and his wife have lost their unborn baby.

Insigne’s wife Genny Darone was pregnant with their third child for about six months but they now lost the baby, report La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is a story that has shocked the football world, with Insigne having already taken a break from playing football for the last few days. He wasn’t available with the Toronto FC squad for the last few days and the unfortunate incident also explains his exclusion from the Italian national team by manager Roberto Mancini.

Some days ago, Toronto FC had released a statement saying that Insigne was facing ‘a delicate family situation’ and Domenico Criscito was by his side during the tragedy. The club had initially declined to make further comments.

It was Insigne himself who made his wife’s pregnancy public in early August, celebrating after the goal scored in Nashville by keeping the ball under the shirt to depict a baby bump. The Get Italian Football News team expresses deepest condolences to Lorenzo Insigne and his family during these tough times.
