Tottenham make late intervention for Juventus target and Barcelona forward Memphis Depay

Tottenham have made a late attempt to sign Juventus target and Barcelona forward Memphis Depay.

Carlo Laudisa has reported that Juventus’ contact with the entourage of Depay had brought about positivity that the deal could be done this summer. Even the player gave his approval to a potential move. But later on Tuesday, Fabio Paratici also held talks with the player’s agents.

While Depay is interested in playing for Juventus, the idea of returning to the Premier League is now distracting him. It is stated that back in January, Spurs had actually approached Barcelona to sign the Netherlands international but it didn’t lead to a successful outcome.

Juve will have another meeting with the player’s entourage today and still remain positive about signing the ex-Manchester United man. The conditions for a transfer seem favourable for the Bianconeri, with Barcelona ready to give the green light for his exit on a free transfer.

Spurs have also held talks for Nicolo Zaniolo, claims the report, but there is an economic distance between Roma and the Lilywhites.
