UEFA Champions League 2022/23 PREVIEW | PSG vs Juventus

Following the 1-1 draw against Fiorentina, Juventus will take on Paris Saint-Germain in their opening game of the 2022/23 Champions League campaign on Tuesday evening.

Despite dropping points here and there, Juventus have made a steady start to the new season. They are currently on an unbeaten run in Serie A. Although injuries remain a distinct hurdle in Juve’s way of getting their full-fledged side, their defence has been robust and has hardly leaked goals thus far.

Nevertheless, on Tuesday evening, they come up against one of the best teams in Europe and one of the deadliest front three featuring Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, and Kylian Mbappe. How will Juve manage to keep them at bay? Well, the spectators cannot wait to see it unfold.

Last five matches in all competitions:

Team News:

PSG are not missing their star players to either injuries or suspension. Vitinha remains a doubt after the midfielder sustained a nasty knock against Nantes.

Juventus have a massive list of absentees. It includes Ángel Di María, Federico Chiesa, Paul Pogba, and Wojciech Szczęsny. Alex Sandro is a doubt for the game. As reported earlier, Leandro Paredes could make the teamsheet against the Ligue 1 champions. Both Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik should start the match for Bianconeri.

Predicted XIs:

PSG (3-4-3): Donnarumma; Ramos, Marquinhos, Kimpembe; Hakimi, Vitinha, Verratti, Nuno Mendes; Messi, Mbappe, Neymar.

Juventus (3-5-2): Perin; Bremer, Bonucci, Danilo; Cuadrado, Rabiot, Paredes, Miretti, Kostic; Milik, Vlahovic.

PSG could make history by defeating Juventus for the first time in a European competition. Nonetheless, Allegri has always masterminded some miracles. It would be interesting to see whether he could manage to pull a few strings again on an away turf this time.
