UEFA Champions League | PLAYER RATINGS: Viktoria Plzen 0-2 Inter

Inter grasped a welcome victory in the Champions League 2022/23 season as a dominating performance guided Simone Inzaghi’s side to three points against Viktoria Plzen.

Inter’s early dominance in possession resulted in a breakthrough for the travellers, with Edin Dzeko converting Joaquín Correa’s delivery to draw the first blood in the 20th minute of the game. Plzen could only get four attempts, and none of them was on target in the first forty-five minutes of the game.

Although the home side started the game well in the second half, Pavel Bucha’s red card for a challenge on Nicolo Barella shook up Michal Bílek’s men.

The dismissal somewhat soaked the energy out of Plzen’s offensive intent. Denzel Dumfries put the game to bed with a top-level finish at the 70th minute of the match.

After that, it was just the art of game management from the Nerazzurri, which they aptly did till the final whistle. Here are the player ratings from Inter’s maiden victory in the Champions League this season.
