Valencia preparing a €13m offer for Matteo Politano

Matteo Politano is determined to leave Napoli this summer as the relationship between Luciano Spalletti and the Italy international has deteriorated massively in recent weeks.

As per Il Mattino, Valencia are ready to extend the overall value of their latest proposal for Matteo Politano. The Spanish club have already had an offer of around €10 million rejected by the Naples-based side.

Now, they look to insist on the potential transfer with an improved bid of around €13 million. The report suggests that the winger is desperate to part ways with Napoli in this summer transfer window.

The latest comments from Spalletti regarding the player’s position at the club have not helped the cause either. In a recent press conference, the Italian coach said, “It’s a situation that only he [Politano] created.”

It is understood that the differences between the player and the coach have led to a complete breakdown in their relationship, and it is not easily remediable.

Politano’s agent Mario Giuffredi will ask for a meeting with the Italian club to get clarification on the future of the former Inter man.

Besides Valencia, several other clubs have shown interest in the 28-year-old, who has a contract at Napoli until June 2024.
