Agent of Andrea Cambiaso confirms Juventus tried to recall player

The agent of Bologna defender Andrea Cambiaso has confirmed that his parent club Juventus have tried to recall him but have failed in their attempts.

It was reported that while there is still a possibility of Luca Pellegrini going to Lazio, Juve are looking to recall Cambiaso to the club, having sold Weston McKennie to Leeds United already.

Cambiaso’s agent Giovanni Bia spoke to Sportitalia (via Alfredo Pedulla) about Juve’s approach and he confirmed that theoritically, the matter is now resolved and Juve will not recall him on deadline day. Bologna’s decision also played a role in Juve’s unsuccessful attempt.

He stated: “Juve tried to bring him home, having the opportunity to do so. But Bologna has raised the wall and therefore the player remains there. The Bolognese management declared him non-transferable. Everything can go up to the gong, but I think there’s no more margin now. Let’s see how it ends, theoretically everything is closed.”

Cambiaso has made 18 Serie A appearances for the Rossoblu this season and he has two assists. He had joined the club on a loan deal from Juve in the summer, as the Old Lady had signed him from Genoa, who had been relegated to Serie B last season.
