Alessandro Florenzi reveals he didn’t bet on football matches

Milan full-back Alessandro Florenzi has confessed that he does bet on sports but never on football matches.

According to a report by ANSA via Milannews.it, Alessandro Florenzi approached the prosecution today in Turin as he was heard as a suspect involved in the recent Italian illegal betting incidents. The 32-year-old admitted that he does bet on sporting events but never on football games. He said: “Betting yes, but never on football and only on other games, including roulette.

Juventus’ Nicolo Fagioli and Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali are serving bans from competitive football due to their betting cases on their respective teams’ matches.

Alessandro Florenzi today recorded his statement to public prosecutor Manuela Pedrotta as Milan hope to have their player clear of suspicions or potential charges. However, the fullback’s message in court does provide the investigators an opening to put an eye on him and carry out further inquiry into his bets on games like roulette and on the ‘other games’.
