Andrea Pirlo emerges as candidate to become Belgium manager

Former Juventus and current Fatih Karagumruk manager Andrea Pirlo is a candidate to become the next manager of the Belgian national team.

Roberto Martinez had left the Red Devils following their disastarous World Cup campaign and he has been appointed as the new Portugal manager, replacing Fernando Santos. The Belgium hotseat remains vacant.

Marco Conterio has reported that interviews for the role will take place next week and Belgium have already announced their requirements in the next national team boss. A variety of names and profiles are in the hat to become the next manager and that also includes Pirlo, who last managed a major club back in 2021, when he was in-charge of the Bianconeri.

Currently in charge of Fatih Karagumruk, the Italian has been linked with several Serie A jobs in the past but his current side are 10th in the table, only three points away from the relegation zone.
