Arsenal set to sign Spezia’s Jakub Kiwior

Premier League leaders Arsenal are set to seal the signature of Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior.

The Poland international impressed in the World Cup and he has done well for the Aquilotti at centre-back, having been linked with a host of clubs across Italy.

Sky Italia claim that Arsenal have beaten competition very quickly from other clubs and have all but sealed the deal for the defender. They have offered Spezia €25 million for a permanent move this month, with the defender set to arrive in London for a medical in the next few hours. He will then sign a long-term contract at the club.

The 22-year-old has made 17 Serie A appearances this season and has also been a regular in the Coppa Italia, having flourished in a possession-based system under Luca Gotti. Juventus were keeping tabs on the Pole and had scouted him recently, while Milan and Napoli had also been linked.
