Aurelio de Laurentiis holds meeting with Luciano Spalletti over new deal

Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis has held a meeting with Luciano Spalletti over a new deal for the Partenopei boss.

Il Mattino have reported that the duo had a meeting last night at the ‘L’Altro Coco Loco’ restaurant in Cappella Vecchia. They had dinner together and they spoke about the season Napoli have had and the future of the club and the team. Multiple topics were explored during the meeting, with De Laurentiis having offered ideas around the project to Spalletti and they also spoke in-depth about the team’s future and the manager’s future at the Partenopei.

The basis of the meeting was the desire to challenge for the title again and go a step forward in the Champions League next season and Spalletti appreciates that. The manager wanted this meeting, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2024 but De Laurentiis wants to extend his stay till the summer of 2025. 

Among the topics covered during the meeting was the issue of the transfer market and potential incomings and outgoings. Talks over a new deal for Piotr Zielinski are set to restart, with his deal running out in 2024. De Laurentiis also made it clear that he wants to keep the club’s prized assets at the club this summer.
