Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel holding up Inter’s move for Benjamin Pavard

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is one of the key reasons for why Inter’s move for Benjamin Pavard hasn’t gone through yet.

Pavard’s move to the Nerazzurri hinges on Bayern signing a replacement and La Gazzetta dello Sport have provided some details about the situation, stating that the German wants a ‘top defender’ to replace the Frenchman and has spoken to Pavard about potentially staying in Bavaria for another season despite the fact that the 27-year-old is in the last year of his contract. As of now, Bayern are blocking the exit as they have no replacement in hand.

Inter’s patience, it is stated, is not infinite. They will not wait for Bayern to unblock the move on deadline day, even though personal terms are already in place and a five-year deal is ready for the defender. If Bayern’s approval doesn’t arrive in the next few days, Inter will move on and look at other options.
