Chelsea’s asking price for Roma’s Romelu Lukaku could increase in the summer

Chelsea’s asking price of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku could increase next summer, depending on how the player performs.

Lukaku joined Roma on a loan deal last summer after Inter failed to land the Belgian on a permanent basis. Already, Lukaku has made a fair amount of impact with his goals, scoring six times in the Serie A and three times in the Europa League.

Il Tempo (via TMW) today have reported about the situation of the 30-year-old, stating that Roma want to somehow sign the player on a permanent basis in the summer and they would try to attempt that move. But if Lukaku keeps performing the way he has, it may not help the Giallorossi’s case.

That is because Chelsea would increase their asking for the ex-Manchester United man. On top of that, Roma would also have to find a solution regarding the player’s wages and these issues will be addressed over time. As of now, Lukaku is increasingly at the centre of the club’s project.
