Danilo D’Ambrosio bids farewell to Inter

Defender Danilo D’Ambrosio is set to leave Inter and he has now bid farewell to the Nerazzurri, as he is days away from his departure.

The Italian’s current deal at the club runs out at the end of June, which is tomorrow. Inter are not renewing his deal as they look to sign other players to bolster their backline. Apart from D’Ambrosio, Milan Skriniar is also leaving the club and he is joining Paris Saint-Germain.

Ahead of his exit, D’Ambrosio posted about the Nerazzurri on his Instagram handle. The post said: “I would have to wanted to end my career with the team I’ve supporting forever but it is a shame that it will not be possible. Inter, to me, means family. Family like the one me and my wife chose and wanted to create, in the place we grew up, loving the shirt and experiencing joys and pains.”

The veteran further went on to thank the Inter fans for the love they have shown for him, stating that they all helped him grow at the club.

Now 34, D’Ambrosio joined Inter from Torino in the January of 2014 and since joining, he has won the Serie A title, Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana. He also reached the Europa League final and the Champions League final with the Nerazzurri, playing 284 times for the side and scoring 21 times for the club. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
