Details of Napoli CEO’s meeting with Igor Tudor emerge

Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis held a meeting with ex-Verona manager Igor Tudor today and some details about the meeting have now emerged.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that the meeting took place in the early hours of the afternoon today and it took place in the Filmauro offices, which is were most of the major meetings take place involving De Laurentiis. Napoli need another manager soon, with Rudi Garcia’s fate all but sealed.

During the meeting, two aspects were vital. De Laurentiis offered an initial contract till the end of the season with the unilateral option of a renewal. Tudor, meanwhile, wants a guarantee till the summer of 2025.

The important aspect of the talks was of a tactical nature. Tudor usually uses a 3-4-3 shape, whereas De Laurentiis wants continuation with the 4-3-3 shape. Tudor could compromise and make sure that he keeps using the 4-3-3 or a certain variation of it with the current Napoli squad.

In the next few hours, Garcia’s exit will be made official. He is currently in France and is waiting for his fate to be sealed.
